A variance is not automatically a recoverable claim. A defensible finding needs enough evidence that another qualified reviewer can understand where the number came from and why the recovery route is valid.
Source lineage
The finding should point back to the exact source file, row, statement line or contractual rule used in the calculation.
Reproducible math
Expected value, actual value, tolerance and variance should be calculable again from stored inputs.
Exclusions and conflicts
Voids, legitimate adjustments, duplicate findings and ambiguous matches need explicit handling instead of being silently ignored.
Recoverability
A financially valid historical difference may no longer be collectible. The case needs a recoverability status and deadline where applicable.
Outcome confirmation
The recovery workflow should not close at submission. It closes when the money or credit is confirmed, or when the case reaches a documented non-recovery outcome.
